STI Testing

No-Cost Testing Services

Sexually transmitted diseases and sexually transmitted infections are very common today. If you believe you may be pregnant, you are at risk of having contracting an STD or STI, which can be very damaging to your reproductive health down the line.

Why should i get tested for stds and stis?

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are the two most common STDs and STIs in the United States. Of people who have contracted these, between 75 and 80 percent of them do not know it. This is especially true of women because they routinely do not exhibit symptoms. The only way to know for sure is to be tested for STDs and STIs. If you have a positive pregnancy test and ultrasound at Willow Women’s Center, we provide free testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea. We use the urine you provided for your pregnancy test for the STD test, so there is no need for additional samples or drawing blood.

Abortion and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

Before having an abortion, it is very important to be tested for these two STDs. During the abortion procedure, the bacteria can be transferred through your cervix into your uterus, which can cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). PID can be very painful, and it can lead to infertility problems, chronic pain and/or an ectopic pregnancy in the future. Treatment for these STDs is usually just an oral prescription. If you test positive for gonorrhea or chlamydia and have an abortion before you are treated, your risk of getting PID increases.

If you are or think you might be unexpectedly pregnant, you may have contracted an STD or STI.
